(Shawal 6, 1389
Hijra), the Leader of the Revolution, Muammar Qadhafi opened the
first session of the Libyan- American negotiations for the
withdrawal of the American forces from American bases in the Arab
Libyan Republic.
" Even if the
interference of British forces in Libya could be justified because
of conditions prevailing at the time, the presence of the American
forces has no justification whatsoever. There is no reason for
their presence except treason by one of Libya's former
rulers......
.....The
establishment of an American base was in no way justifiable from
the very outset. How can it now be so, after the Libyan people have
rejected treason and treachery on the First of
September..."
